Beef Steak Party Part 2

On a recent beautiful fall day, Provence Catering was honored to recreate a classic American party called a Beef Steak. Made famous in northern New Jersey areas of Bergen & Passaic Counties these incredible guilty pleasure feasts are the nightmare of vegetarians and cardiologists alike, but the highlight of those who enjoy rich & decadent carnivorous delights.

On the beautiful "Scotia Acres" Alpaca Farm we recreated this grand tradition which was a favorite of Jim & Marilyn Campbell growing up. Aside from the mounds of beer batter onion rings, seasoned wedge fries, Our Famous BBQ chicken, Grilled vegetables & incredible salad, the feature was the freshly sliced filet of beef dipped into melted butter & placed on top of white bread and seasoned with sea salt & fresh ground pepper. The butter soaking the bread with all its richness was a treat in itself. What a total gluttonous feast this was! Family & friends delighted in this vegetarian nightmare while enjoying hayrides & tours of this incredible farm. Great Food plus Great Service Yields Great Opportunities! We recently were privileged to cater a 40th Birthday party at an amazing venue in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. The house was beautiful, a block to the beach, heated pool, two decks, built in bar, incredible open spaces & great kitchen. Even handicap accessible with its exterior accessible elevator. The night was fitting of our Motto " Perfect Works Just Fine" A beautiful sushi & shrimp bar in custom ice sculpture, decadent desserts, incredible food and our impeccable level of service. What a way to celebrate 40 years of living.

October 2nd marks the deadline for submissions to win a free commitment ceremony & reception on Valentines Day 2010. With the assistance of the Philadelphia Gay News couples are being asked to submit an essay as to why they deserve this wonderful event. Two couples will be selected by a committee from the PGN and local organizations and the winning essays will be published November 4th.



This wonderful event will be held at the beautiful Chestnut Club http://www.thechestnutclub.com/ on Valentines Day. Each couple can invite 60 guests for this lavish & heart warming event. Keswick Theatre

This weeks featured venue is the historic & amazing Keswick Theatre.http://www.keswicktheatre.com/ This incredible gem in Glenside is available for full facility rentals for seminars, concerts or large presentations of up to 1350 people to smaller intimate events or luncheons in the lobby or balcony areas. It is convenient to many major highways and there is ample parking in the area.

The theatre first opened its doors on Christmas night 1928 and is a Horace Trumbaurer design. Also the Architect of The Philadelphia Museum or Art & another local gem, The Elkins Estate. In 1955 the theatre was remolded into a cinemascope house and remained that, until it closed its doors and was slated for demolition in Spring of 1980. In 1981 it was reopened by a Not For Profit organization that helped have it placed on the Historic Registry in 1983. That group was unable to meet expenses & closed the theatre in December 1985. In March 1988 A private group purchased the theatre and reopened it as one of the leading venues of its type in the United States. They have been sucessful in building resoration and developing a fund to continue that work.

Grand Days of Entertaining Revisited

On Thursday, September 24th Provence Catering was proud to be part of the Grand Opening Celebration for one of Philly's Hottest Venues! The Chestnut Club at 1529 Chestnut Street http://www.thechestnutclub.com/ celebrated an Oscar Award Evening complete with Orchestra & Velvet Ropes! The restored Arcadia Theatre was alive in its once grand & decadent fashion. Champagne was flowing & the guests were wining & dining to classic cocktails & great wines. Provence Catering teamed up with Franks Union Wine Mart http://www.frankswine.com/ to provide incredible libations. Our house special Mojito & Dirty Martini were a huge hit but the drink of choice that night was the Ruby Slipper which was chosen to fit the decor & atmosphere of this great venue. We are excited to be hosting a very special event at this incredible venue, The Chestnut Club, on Valentines Day 2010 celebrating the love of two very special committed couples.
